6 April 2011: Day of change for employment law

April 2011 has been a busy time for employment solicitors. They have been advising their clients on all the reforms that are being implemented this month. However, 6 April is a particularly busy day as a number of important reforms come into force at once.

More mothers returning to full-time work, official figures reveal

Figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that more mothers are choosing to return to work full time.

The figures show that at the end of 2010, 29% of mothers were working a 35-hour or more week. In 1996, the figure was 23%.
